 Beyond Close Reading:

Facilitating Students’ Engagement with Informational Text

presented by Dr. Nancy Witherall

Close reading involves teacher guidance as we get students to delve deeper into the meaning of text.  Then what?  Using Common Core standards as a guideline, this presentation will offer ideas that teachers can use in classrooms to facilitate students’ exploration of informational texts–independently of the teacher.
